About Cattail
Cattail stems (Typha latifolia) were used often for mats in Nootka basketry (Pacific Northwest basketry), as well as for the lower Pacific Northwest groups such as the Chehalis Salish, the Chinook, the Clatsop, the Coast Salish, and the Skokomish (Twana).
