Carol Pecos, born in 1934, is a Jemez Pueblo potter known for creating storyteller figures that express kindness, togetherness, love, and caring. She learned pottery from her mother, Louisa F. Toledo, and has been making storytellers since around 1974. Carol's storytellers are often characterized by their red slip over tan clay, which is typical of Jemez pottery. She is particularly noted for her storytellers featuring larger numbers of children, reflecting her family life and the importance of storytelling in Jemez culture.
