These baskets are renowned for their incredible fineness of weave, intricate designs, and diminutive scale—often measuring less than an inch in diameter or height—showcasing the extraordinary skill and patience of Pomo weavers, who were predominantly women. The term "micro miniature" typically refers to the tiniest of these works, sometimes as small as 3/16 × 1/4 inches (about the size of a small pea), making them true feats of artistry.
