Early wire repairs of bail - easily professionally restored through our gallery if desired
Banded motif of unpeeled willow warps against peeled willow which has darkened over the years making the banding a bit difficult to see.
A beautiful form and handsome basket.
Notes: Basket belonged to Winni's Mother in laws great aunt (Simpson) who got them from Indians in Nevada 128+ in 1996. Wagons - She watched Fort Walla Walla burn. Second Note: "Made by Nevada Indians belonged to Henry Bolts Sr. Great Aunt Simpson - Carlin Nevada approx. 1900"
My note: Fort Walla Walla burned 1841. The two notes both identify Aunt Simpson as collector with the first note dating it as early as 1868, the second approx. 1900.
