180409-06 Navajo Classic Period Womans Dress Pannel
With raveled Bayetta; Cochineal and indigo dyes. Very fine condition and weave. One of the finer examples of the form. This sort of Woman’s dress would have been of 2 identical panels, which would be sewn together at the sides and shoulders. Over time they often became separated. The conservative elements and very fine weave hallmark the aesthetics of the period.
