Hopi Kachina, Clown
Circa 1960-1970

10 1/2 inches

Hand carved and painted, cottonwood root. A handsome Koshare Kachina.

The Koshare kachinas are both sacred and mischievous, and their actions are considered humorous and exaggerated. Koshare Clown kachinas are often shown with watermelons or other objects that poke fun at human nature.
