Note from Previous owner:

This was purchased at a flea market several years ago. Item is as purchased. It has been in a "view only" cabinet in my home. I have had it appraised and was given the information it dates back to 1880's and could be considered museum quality. There was an original note found under bedding. that this was made by an Indian Woman in Maine, a friend of Harriet Beecher Stowe, which did not add to value but was quite interesting.

There are some pieces missing with the decorative areas. The bottom and sides of the cradle are in perfect condition. I was told that normally the rockers would be put on by the buyer. This particular one was rare as the rockers went through the cradle itself. There is a piece of material missing in the area where one of the rockers is attached to the cradle. The filler for the bedding is sticks and leaves. A very beautiful piece. I am downsizing and would love to see someone with the love for the craftsmanship enjoy this work of art as I have.
