About Bracelet Sizes
Shopping for a bracelet is easy... once you know what bracelet size you need to look for!
Step One: Measure Your Wrist:
Measure your wrist where you would like the bracelet to be worn, at the thickest section. To do so, take a measuring tape or a strip of paper, and wrap it around your wrist tightly (without pushing in your skin). Mark or observe where the tape or paper begins to overlap. The length that you observe is the circumference of your wrist. Jot down this measurement for future reference.
Step Two: Understand Our Bracelets' Measurements:
On our website, we show all of our bracelets' measurements in inches.
We typically show the bracelets' measurements in this fashion:
Length of the inside contour, width at the widest point of the bracelet, and length of the gap within which you slide your wrist to put the bracelet on.
The length of the inside contour PLUS the length of the gap (opening) to slide your wrist through equals the total circumference of the bracelet.
Step Three: Determine If a Bracelet's Measurements Will Work With Your Wrist:
While each person wears their bracelets slightly differently, there are three main ways to wear a bracelet: snugly (a little tight), comfortably (neither tight nor loose), and loosely (a little more length to the bracelet, creating more movement on the wrist and/or arm/hand).
If you desire a...
Snug fit: The bracelet's total length should be 1/4 to 1/2" longer than your wrist's circumference.
Comfortable fit: The bracelet's total length should be 1/2" to 1" longer than your wrist's circumference.
Loose fit: The bracelet's total length should be 1" or more longer than your wrist's circumference.
Example: If your wrist size is 7" in circumference, and you want a snug fit, you will want to find a bracelet that is no smaller than 7 1/4" long. A comfortable fit for you would be a bracelet that is 7 1/2" - 8" in total length. Go over 8", and your bracelet may move a lot or even fall off your wrist.
