Zuni Bobcat Fetishes

Zuni fetish carving bobcat on rock picasso marble one piece turquoise eyes
In Zuni culture, bobcat fetishes (sometimes also seen as wildcats or lynxes) are not widely carved. It represents favorable hunting, as in the case of hunting antelope.

Zuni Bobcat fetish carvings are not traditional but they can be seen carved by many of the master contemporary Zuni fetish carvers, often in high detail. They are identified by their short, bobbed tail and their whiskers extending outwards on the sides of their face. They are very often carved in a dynamic pose or stance, seemingly ready to pounce, attack, or run.

We carry a great selection of Zuni bobcat fetish carvings. Available fetishes can be viewed and ordered via our Online Catalog here.

Additional examples of Zuni bobcat fetishes, carved with various degrees of detail in different materials:
Zuni fetish carving of bobcat in apple coral with turquoise eyes
High-detail Zuni Pueblo bobcat fetish carving in picasso marble with turquoise eyes
another great Zuni fetish carving of a bobcat in picasso marble with turquoise eyes
Note the stylized whiskers of this Zuni bobcat fetish carving in Picasso Marble with turquoise and jet eyes.
