1283-134 Sterling Silver Bracelet with stamping, Very Large Man's Cuff
Sterling Silver Bracelet with stamping, Very Large Man's Cuff
by Greg Thorne
Just brought into the gallery by Greg Thorne, with masterful stamping. Hallmarked on the back, on the ends of the cuff. Greg Thorne had to solder an extra inch or so of Sterling Silver onto the band to create this custom long length of 6 7/8", and thus there is a very slight solder line visible; this piece is solid in its workmanship.
This bracelet measures 6 7/8" long, 1 1/8" wide, with a 1 5/8" opening to slide wrist through. 74.4 grams.
Greg Thorne learned this art from Navajo silversmiths, however he is not of Navajo heritage.
I create handmade American turquoise jewelry as taught to me by Navajo and Pueblo Indians. In my artwork I am focused on earlier technologies that emphasize the human heart expressed solely through the hands use of simple tools. My Southwest style turquoise jewelry can be found at the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach, CA.
