The Hopi Reservation, located in northeastern Arizona, is completely surrounded by the Navajo Reservation. On top of, and near three towing Mesas the Hopi Villages are as follows (located east to west): First Mesa (Walpi, Hano and Sichomoivi), Second Mesa (Shongopavi, Mishongnovi,Shipaulovi, and Third Mesa, (Hotevilla, Bacavi, Moencopi, Kykotsmovi and Oraibi. The Hopi weave their baskets using three techniques: plating(cradle boards and Piki trays), wicker (woven on Third Mesa) and coiling (woven on Second Mesa). Using rabbit brush, sumac, dune brush and yucca the Hopi usually depict Plants, Clouds, Stars, Kachina figures or animals.
