Very large 24" diameter x 14" height Maidu feast basket. Woven in peeled and unpeeled redbud, baskets like this were traditionally used as community acorn mush cooking basket to prepare a large meal for many members of a tribal band; this was acquired circa 1900 before it was ever used and so is in superior condition.
