Freddie Leekya is a grandson of Leekya Deyuse, and son of Francis Leekya.
Zuni Stone or Zuni Rock is travertine that is mined almost exclusively for fetish carving by the Leekya family, at Zuni Pueblo, NM.
Its colors tend to be predominantly in the golden light-brown spectrum, but also may exhibit tones of gray, light beige, cream, and darker brown.
When one comes across a Zuni fetish carved in this distinctive stone, chances are that it was carved by a member of the Leekya family.
In Zuni culture, frogs are known to invoke the spirits to provide rain. They can silently warn of danger. Frogs are also associated with abundance, and at times, fertility. This frog here is more comical, as a hitch hiker.
