About Turquoise
Turquoise is used by Native American jewelers and Zuni fetish carvers in a variety of ways. (More on turquoise will be coming soon, this is just the beginning of a long expose project on turquoise - please check back later).
In Navajo and Zuni & other Puebloan jewelry, turquoise can be used as a setting in Sterling Silver, or in channel or mosaic inlay in Sterling Silver.
In Zuni fetish carvings, one sees turquoise often as a stand-alone material representing the animal or figure's body, and also as a part of ornamentation or in stone inlay.
